Affordable Housing

For decades, the lack of affordable housing has been one of the most pressing issues confronting low-income people in the Twin Cities. In recent years, Community Action has been expanding its housing program to meet this urgent community need.

Housing for People in Crisis

Community Action’s Rapid Rehousing Program assists single women experiencing homelessness find a safe, permanent place to live so that they can focus on stabilization.

There are currently NO OPENINGS in our Rapid Rehousing Program.

If you are currently experiencing homelessness please contact 211. You will be referred to Coordinated Entry to complete a housing assessment.

Addressing the Gap in Affordable Rental Housing

Community Action has responded to the affordable housing crisis by purchasing and rehabilitating smaller multi-family properties (typically duplexes and triplexes) and offering them at affordable rental rates to low-income families.  Our properties are located in established neighborhoods close to community amenities such as schools, parks, and shopping, and have easy access to public transportation.

There are currently NO VACANCIES in our rental units.  If you need a referral to other organizations who might help you find affordable housing please call 651-603-5880.

“I am getting better service for the same price as my old place. I did not even know stuff like this existed . . . It was like someone saved me.”
