Classroom Helper (Ongoing - Spring, Summer, Fall)
Prepare kids for success as they enter Kindergarten! Assist with providing high quality education for children ages 3-5. Help our Head Start teachers and classroom staff to make learning and attending school a fun and rewarding activity for children. Head Start Center classes are held during weekday daytime hours. This can also be used for a student teaching or practicum experience -- please fill out the Volunteer Application above.

Partner with Community Action to support our community! As an Outreach Volunteer, you will play a vital role in promoting the mission and activities of Community Action Partnership — and you will be able to share your story and passions with community members at events where CAPRW participates. Your passion for community engagement and effective communication skills will be instrumental in connecting CAPRW with potential supporters, clients, and partners. Events Assistant (Ongoing)
We are looking for Events Assistants throughout the year for CAPRW events. By assisting with various events throughout the year, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring each event runs smoothly and successfully. Your responsibilities surround event support, like event setup and takedown, distributing materials, managing check-ins, supporting staff, and engaging with attendees at activity tables. This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with people, support others, and gain valuable experience in event support. If you’re passionate about making a positive impact and love working in dynamic environments, this role is perfect for you!

CAPRW is looking for a motivated and passionate Marketing and Communications Intern. This intern will work directly with the Manager of Marketing & Communications to write social media posts, work on internal and external communications, and other marketing materials to advertise CAPRW’s accomplishments and community programs. You will gain hands-on experience in organizational messaging, social media campaign creation, and nonprofit work.
This position requires a minimum commitment of 4 hours per week for at least 3 months and availability Monday – Thursday between 9:00 am and 3:30 pm. Ideal candidates are current students studying marketing, communications, English, or a related field. We also welcome students who may not be majoring in these areas but are passionate about them and can demonstrate relevant experience.

Are you a creative storyteller who wants hands-on experience capturing real-world impact through photography and videography? CAPRW is seeking a Media Production Volunteer to capture high-quality photos and videos at our Head Start centers across Ramsey County. Head Start and Early Head Start are no-cost child and family development programs in Ramsey County that support pregnant individuals and families with children from birth to age five, focusing on school readiness, social-emotional development, and more. The Media Production Volunteer will use photography and video to capture classrooms, learning environments, and program activities to serve on our new website.
This position requires a minimum commitment of 4 hours per week for at least 3 months and availability Monday – Thursday between 9:00 am and 3:30 pm. The role may be structured as a volunteer position or an internship for academic credit, depending on your needs.

The Front Desk Assistant Volunteer will serve as the first point of contact for clients and visitors in the Community Action Resource Building by greeting visitors to the building, giving accurate directions and general information about the building and its services. Seated in the copyroom area, this position also offers the opportunity to learn office operations, including mail receipt and distribution, administrative support, and customer service. This internship is ideal for someone interested in hospitality, office administration, or nonprofit operations. A minimum commitment of 4 hours per week is required for 3+ months.
