Become a Volunteer in Action

Volunteering is a great way to make a difference in your community by donating your time and talents. When you volunteer with Community Action, you are taking action to work with your neighbors to overcome the effects of poverty on people's lives.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

  • Classroom Helper (ongoing - Spring, Summer, Fall)

Prepare kids for success as they enter Kindergarten! Assist with providing high quality education for children ages 3-5. Help our Head Start teachers and classroom staff to make learning and attending school a fun and rewarding activity for children. Head Start Center classes are held during weekday daytime hours. This can also be used for a student teaching or practicum experience -- please fill out the Student Practicum Application or Individual Volunteer Application above.

  • Partner with Community Action to support our community! As an Outreach Volunteer, you will play a vital role in promoting the mission and activities of Community Action Partnership — and you will be able to share your story and passions with community members at events where CAPRW participates. Your passion for community engagement and effective communication skills will be instrumental in connecting CAPRW with potential supporters, clients, and partners. If you have a passion for networking and connecting with diverse individuals, organizations, and community leaders, being an Outreach Volunteer might be a perfect fit for you! Interested? Apply via our volunteer application and pick "Outreach Volunteer" - https://tinyurl.com/VolunteerCAPRW

  • Community Action is looking for a motivated and passionate Grants Research Intern. Working closely with our Grants Manager, you'll conduct in-depth research on wide-ranging grant opportunities -- this includes researching private foundations, creating foundation profiles, and collaborating with Community Action staff. This role is perfect for you if you are a curious and creative learner who enjoys research, collaboration, and making an impact.

For this internship, you should be at least 18 years old and have or be pursuing a Certificate, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s in English/Communications, Nonprofit Administration, Business Administration with a focus on grants, or a related field. Interested or know someone who is? Complete an Individual Volunteer Application at https://caprw.org/take-action/volunteer.html AND email a resume to volunteers@caprw.org.
