Poverty Is a Math Problem. We Can Solve It Together.

For people who live in poverty, it's hard not to think about the math all the time. At the end of the month, many low-income people worry wither there's enough food on the table, money for rent, or heat in their home during the cold winter months.

But you can help offer solutions to this math problem by giving to Community Action. Your gift will support our programs and services that help low-income families stay warm all winter, educate children through a curriculum proven to bring future success, and give people the tools they need to lift themselves out of poverty and reach their full potential!

Listening to Our Neighbors

From the our very beginnings in 1964, our movement has charged communities to work together with the true "experts" on poverty—low-income people themselves—to create effective solutions and appropriate supports. As such, we conduct a Community Needs Assessment every three years with the goal of understanding the underlying causes and conditions of poverty to address the unmet needs of the most vulnerable residents in our service area.
