Organizations Provide Help in Time of High Anxiety and Stress

As we approach the end of another pandemic year, mired in the stresses of the holiday season, and coupled with the doubt and disquiet facing us in the new year, it is only natural to experience fear, anxiety, despair, and even anger. Such feelings are authentic and reasonable, but they don’t have to define and totally disrupt our lives or the lives of those around us. There is help available to everyone that seeks it.

For instance, the Minnesota Warmline provides peer-to-peer support via a safe, anonymous, and free telephone service designed to help our neighbors in need of support. The Minnesota Warmline is available Mondays through Saturdays from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm at 651-288-0400 (or toll free at or 855-WARMLINE or 877-404-3190). You can also text “support” to 85511 for assistance and learn more online by visiting the Minnesota Warmline webpage here.

The Minnesota Department of Human Services also maintains Mental Health Crises telephone lines for both adults and children in all 87 Minnesota counties and Tribal Nation administrative centers. In addition to these phone lines, you can also text “MN” to 741741 any time of day to connect with a Crisis Counselor.
