Community Action is now enrolling participants in our 2022 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Clinic. The VITA Clinic provides free tax preparation for low- to moderate-income households in Ramsey and Washington Counties. Since 2015, Our IRS-certified volunteers have helped to return more than $1.5 million in state and federal refunds to area residents by ensuring they claim the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and all other available credits and deductions. The EITC is widely regarded as one of America’s most effective anti-poverty fighting tools, lifting millions of families above the federal poverty threshold and generating hundreds of millions of dollars in tax returns each year.
Individuals with an annual income of $35,000 or less and families that earned $55,000 or less in 2021 are eligible to participate in this year’s clinic.
