The 6th Annual National Day of Racial Healing is Tomorrow, January 18

REMINDER

Tomorrow, January 18, 2022, will mark the 6th Annual National Day of Racial Healing. Building on the work of the Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation (TRHT) initiative, which includes the National Community Action Network as a partner, the National Day of Racial Healing was established in 2017 to take place on the Tuesday after the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Holiday. The purpose of this day, and its associated events throughout America, is to “bring ALL people together in their common humanity and inspire collective action to create a more just and equitable world.”

Join us tomorrow from 2:00 pm to 3:15 pm, Central Time, as the National Day of Racial Healing, sponsored by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, will host a free virtual event featuring conversations on racial healing, racial equity, and social justice in America and beyond. Guests will include Soledad O’Brien, Heather C. McGhee, and John Legend. To view this event, please RSVP at this weblink https://healourcommunities.org/day-of-racial-healing/. Likewise, there are local events talking place across the nation all day long. To find an event near you, please use the same link directly above.

Finally, although this is a one-day event that takes place each year, the work that is being done by the TRHT is year-round. To learn more about how you can participate in this work and help to bring racial healing to your local community, please visit the National Day of Racial Healing website (https://healourcommunities.org/day-of-racial-healing/) and download both the Racial Healing Action Kit and Conversation Guide. These documents provide assistance on how to facilitate racial healing circles near you  and include resources for students, educators, libraries, faith and spiritual communities, business and community leaders, philanthropic organizations, and artistic, cultural and media organizations among others.
