Community Action Partnership of Ramsey & Washington Counties is once again seeking volunteers to serve as tax preparers and tax return reviewers with our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Clinic. Each year, Community Action’s VITA Clinic provides free tax preparation for low- to moderate income individuals and families residing in Ramsey and Washington Counites. And our IRS-certified volunteers make sure that these households receive the maximum possible refund by helping them to claim all available tax credits and deductions, including the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), which annually yields hundreds of millions of dollars in tax returns to taxpayers and lifts millions of low-income American families above the federal poverty line.
VITA Clinic volunteers will receive between 10 to 15 hours of online training, plus coaching to earn their IRS-Tax Law Certification. The 2022 clinic will operate two days a week from February 1 through April 15, 2022, and require a minimum three-hour time commitment per week.
