Minnesota Department of Health Outlines New Testing Recommendations

As cases of COVID-19 continue to trend upward in Minnesota and throughout the nation, health officials are reminding people that testing remains a valuable tool in our quest to reduce the spread of this virus and the delta variant. The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) has outlined its latest testing recommendations and guidelines for both vaccinated and unvaccinated persons. This includes information for individuals that: are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19; have become exposed to someone with COVID-19; work or learn in an in-person school setting; have recently attended large indoor and/or outdoor social gatherings; traveled domestically or internationally; are a health care worker; have been asked to get tested by a health care provide or local health department; or live near and outbreak or community cluster of COVID-19 cases.

The MDH chart that accompanies this blog, which can also be viewed online here, provides comprehensive details on current testing recommendations. The MDH COVID-19 Testing webpage also provides regular updates about testing options such as the types of available tests, who should get tested, how to find a testing location, what to do as you wait your COVID-19 test results, and other related resources. And, for the latest situation update regarding COVID-19, including where to get vaccinated, what to do if you test positive, COVID-19 treatments close contact tracing instructions, and how to protect yourself and  others, please visit MDH online.
