The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) Refugee Resettlement Network recently established a new telephone hotline to provide COVID-19 related assistance and information regarding other important resources to immigrant and refugee communities in more than a dozen languages. The services this hotline will connect individuals and families to include: COVID-19 testing sites, healthcare and medical insurance, SNAP application assistance, employment and financial assistance, housing and rental assistance, distance learning support, immigration support, and help meeting other household needs.
The DHS hotline number, 651-318-0989, can be accessed from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and provides assistance in the following languages.

- Anuak
- Arabic
- French
- Hindi
- Karen
- Lingala
- Luganda
- Mashi
- Oromo
- Somali
- Spanish
- Swahili
Hotline staff is also equipped to help those speaking other languages connect to the appropriate service network. Those who call after hours or on the weekend can leave a message in any language and hotline support staff will return their call the next business day.
