Online Section 8 Housing Applications Open Tomorrow

Online applications for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program open tomorrow, June 22, at 9:00 AM CST. Applications will close at 12:00 PM CST, on Tuesday, June 28, 2022. Every application that is successfully submitted during this six-day window will be automatically placed into a lottery. Up to 2,000 households will randomly selected from this drawing and added to the waitlist for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program’s waitlist.

Ninety-five percent of participating households must either “live, work, or attending school full-time” within the Twin Cities seven-county metro, which includes Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington counties. For more details, including income eligibility, translation services, and other special accommodations, please call 651-602-1880 or visit the Metropolitan Council Housing and Redevelopment Authority (Metro HRA) online. And, to submit your application, visit the Metro HRA’s online application portal anytime between 9:00 AM, Wednesday, June 22, and 12:00 PM, Tuesday, June 28.
