It's Election Day! You Can Still Register and Vote In-Person Today at Your Local Polling Place

It’s Election Day 2021 and more than 50 Minnesota municipalities, including St. Paul and Minneapolis, are holding local elections today. A number of cities and towns are also holding special elections that include important local ballot measures.

There is still time to register and vote today in-person at your local polling place. Most polls are open until 8:00 pm CST tonight, and as long as you are in line to vote by that time, you will be allowed to cast your ballot even if you don’t reach the front of the line until after the polls officially close.

MPR News has put together an Election Day primer (https://www.mprnews.org/story/2021/11/01/find-more-information-on-election-day-2021) designed to assist voters in locales where elections are being held find out what’s on their local ballot and locate their polling place. The MPR News site also provides informational web links to other trusted sources regarding the 2021 elections, including the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Sahan Journal, MinnPost, KARE 11, and Forum Communications. You can also visit the Minnesota Secretary of State’s Election and Voting webpage (https://www.sos.state.mn.us/elections-voting/election-day-voting/voting-hours/) for more information. And remember, municipal elections are critical to our daily lives as they determine a multitude of issues that impact communities. Local elections matter!
