Join Us Tomorrow for "Going Beyond Trauma" Webinar

Tomorrow, February 23, 2021, Community Action Partnership of Ramsey & Washington Counties will present the second installment of our four-part Social & Emotional Well-Being Webinar Series. This free virtual event, titled “Going Beyond Trauma: Reclaiming, Learning, Growing,” is hosted by Brandon Jones (MA) and will explore the link between historical, cross-generational, and race-based trauma experienced in the African American community and its impacts from childhood/adolescence through adulthood.

To register in advance for “Going Beyond Trauma,” which will be held from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm CST, Tuesday, February 23, please visit the event’s gotowebinar link. And, for more information on the Social & Emotional Well-Being Webinar Series, the two remaining events (March 9 and March 23), or to view a video of the first offering in this series (“Parenting During a Pandemic”), please visit our Social & Emotional Well-Being resources page

About the Social & Emotional Well-Being Webinar Series (and upcoming events)

The Social & Emotional Well-Being Webinar Series features experts in the mental health industry, who will provide vital health/wellness tools and strategies to the communities served by Community Action. While trauma and stress affect those living low-income lives most, if not all of the time, adequately addressing these daily anxieties is of particular importance at this time in history as the coronavirus pandemic and America’s deep-seated social, political, and economic crises continue to disparately affect low-income and BIPOC communities. The two remaining events in the Social & Emotional Well-Being Webinar Series are highlighted below.

Community Violence and Trauma

Presented by Jimmie Heags, Jr. (LSC, LPCC, LADC, ACS)

Tuesday, March 9, 2021, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm CT

Stress and the Body

Presented by Lucille Rosario (MSW, LICSW) and Chad. M. Jayasekera (MA, LICSW)

Tuesday, March 23, 2021, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm CT
