As Virtual Volunteer Opportunities Open, We Reflect on the Importance of Volunteerism at Community Action

In yesterday’s installment of our “Working Together” blog, we highlighted the virtual volunteering opportunities currently available as part of our 2021 VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Clinic, which provides free tax preparation to low-income households in Ramsey County. For more information on our VITA Clinic and how to apply as a Virtual Intake Specialist or Virtual Tax Preparation Specialist, helping others from the comfort of your own home, click here

Volunteerism is critical to Community Action’s ability to achieve its mission to reduce poverty and its impact on people’s lives. Last year, for example, Community Action benefitted from more than 33,000 volunteer hours, provided by committed and talented individuals seeking to make a positive difference in the lives of their fellow residents. And, although all of our in-person and on-site volunteer opportunities are currently suspended as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we look forward to welcoming our volunteers back to Community Action when our collective safety permits (as directed by the Minnesota Health Department and the Centers for Disease Control).

We will provide updates on all future volunteer opportunities and activities (including virtual, in-person, and on-site) right here as they become available. Thank you for your continued support.
