Despite Damage to Our St. Paul Headquarters, Food Distribution Goes On

Last Wednesday, May 27, Community Action Head Start / Early Head Start served 300 children (a total of 3,600 meals) and their families through our weekly Food Distribution Event. However, due to the damage at our St. Paul headquarters (450 Syndicate Street North), we were forced to suspend delivery of our meal kit boxes provided by our agency partner, The Food Group. The Food Group is holding those donations so that we may deliver them this week.

Food distribution will take place as scheduled today, Tuesday, June 2, at the regularly scheduled time at two of our sites, McDonough HS Center (1544 Timberlake Road) and Battle Creek HS Center (2181 Suburban Avenue). Plans are to move the University HS Center (450 Syndicate Street North) food distribution event to tomorrow, Wednesday, June 3.

Although the schedule is still subject to change (and we will notify you of any updates), the upcoming schedule through the month of June is as follows:

Tuesday, June 2, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm (at McDonough HS and Battle Creek HS)

Wednesday, June 3, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm (at University HS)

Tuesday, June 9, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm

Tuesday, June 16, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm

Tuesday, June 23, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm

Tuesday, June 30, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm

We understand that our Head Start / Early Head Start families and our larger community need us now more than ever before. We are making a difference through these food distribution efforts and look forward to continuing this vital community initiative. Head Start staff is also referring families additional support networks that have emerged in the past few days.
