#GiveAtHomeMN: One Last Day to Support Minnesota Nonprofits

Tomorrow, May 8, 2020, will conclude #GiveAtHomeMN Week, a virtual fundraising initiative established by our friends at to rally around and support the Minnesota’s nonprofit community, our schools, and the residents that they dutifully serve year-round. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Minnesotans have stayed true to their reputation for generosity and status as the most charitable state in America.

As of 10:00 am this morning, with one day, 13 hours, and 59 minutes remaining during #GiveAtHomeMN Week, 22,896 donations have raised nearly $3.6 million in support of more than 2,400 Minnesota-based organizations. And, if you donate between now and 11:59 Central Time tomorrow, your donation still has the chance to be randomly selected as a “Golden Ticket” adding up to an additional $2,500 to the organization you’ve chosen regardless of how large or small your personal contribution is.

Established in 2009, is a statewide venture led by the Minnesota Community Foundation and many partner agencies “committed to helping make our state a better place.” During its initial launched organized what is now an annual tradition, “Give to the Max Day,” the first of which yielded $14 million in donations within 24 hours. That said, GiveMN is much more than a one-day or one-week “giving extravaganza.” Donors are able to give year-round and to date, has helped to generate nearly $200 million in gifts from more than 300,000 donors supporting 10,000 Minnesota nonprofits and schools.
