Staff Spotlight: Treena Johnson

Community Action is happy to announce the recipient of our 2024 March Staff Spotlight, Energy Program Compliance Specialist for Energy Assistance, Treena Johnson!

Her nominator said, "Treena has been part of Community Action for more than 25 years. She embodies CAPRW's values and is always willing to go the extra mile to help clients. Treena is also an amazing co-worker who always does her best to promote a positive and inclusive workplace. I tell people that when Treena is on the phone at work, it is usually difficult to tell if she is talking to a friend or a client because she is so kind to everyone."

We are so grateful to have staff members such as Treena Johnson that exemplify our mission, vision, and values! Recently we caught up with Treena to learn more about her and how she views her role at Community Action.

What is your favorite part about working at CAPRW?

My favorite part about working at CAPRW is making a difference in other people's lives.  Also having a great team of coworkers that have become like family to me.

Do you have a favorite memory about working with families?

I just really enjoy assisting my clients with Energy assistance and giving them the resources they need to be stable and self-sufficient. Every client I serve has a different vision or path they are trying to reach.  Through the process I have discovered how important listening is and giving clients the resources they need to achieve their goals.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time outside of work?

I love walking my dogs,  spending time with my special needs daughter and husband.  I also like biking (2-3 miles, nothing heavy duty).  I enjoy spending time with my family and co-worker family.  Really enjoying our book club we started in our department.  Make sure I spend quality time by myself-gives me the energy I need for my job and family life.
