Early Giving Underway for Give to the Max Day 2022

As Minnesotans, we all know about Give to the Max Day, which lands on Thursday, November 17 this year. But many might not be aware that Early Giving is already underway. That means, folks can start making generous gifts to Minnesota nonprofits and schools today, making a huge difference in people’s lives across the state.

Chartable giving is in the DNA of the North Start State. Minnesota consistently ranks as one of the top 5 most charitable states in America, so it’s no surprise that we have a statewide day of giving. Started in 2009, Give to the Max Day is a “24-hour online give-athon” hosted by the nonprofit GiveMN. Over the years, Give to the Max Day has evolved into Minnesota’s annual giving holiday, and Minnesotans have invested $225 million in the last 12 years. Last year alone, Minnesotans generously gave $30.4 million to 6,114 nonprofits and schools.

GiveMN has designed their website to be user-friendly for donors to easily navigate, find, and contribute to their favorite nonprofit or local school. Folks can also browse Minnesota employers who offer matching gifts, and if their employers offer matching gifts that will double the impact of their generous donation.

Every gift made during Early Giving through Give to the Max Day enters donors into a random drawing to win a $500 golden ticket, which will help further support their favorite organization. One golden ticket is awared each day of Early Giving, however, on Give to the Max Day, $500 golden tickets are awarded every 15 minutes, and $1000 golden tickets are awarded every hour. In the final drawing of the day, a super-sized golden ticket worth $10,000 will go out to one donor towards their chosen organization.

We encourage everyone who has the means to make a gift—large or small—to their favorite Minnesota nonprofit and school this year!

Community Action will participating in Give to the Max Day. So, if you support our mission to reduce the causes of poverty and its impact on people’s lives in our community, you can start making generous gifts to us today!

We operate many programs that work symbiotically to address the causes of poverty in our communities. So, our Head Start programs don’t just support children, and our financial opportunity programs don’t just support adults. Our programs work together to support the whole family.

When you invest in Community Action, you’re investing in the whole family. When you invest in the whole family, you invest in the whole community. And when you invest in the whole community, you invest in a whole generation. We hope that you will join us for Give the Max Day, and if you support our mission and have the means consider making a gift to Community Action during Early Giving or on November 17!
