The Importance of COVID-19 Booster Shots
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), boosters are critical to protecting oneself from serious illness (and even death) should you become infected with COVID-19.
The CDS recommends that anyone 5 years of age and older should get a booster after completing their primary COVID-19 vaccine series. Current guidelines recommend the first booster shot should be received at least five months after the final dose in the primary series.
A second booster is recommended for adults 50 years of age and older as well as anyone 12 and older who is moderately or severely immunocompromised. The second booster should be received at least 4 months after the first. To learn more about when you or your child should to get a booster shot, please visit the CDC’s dedicated COVID-19 Vaccine webpage.
