One Week Left to Apply to HREEO Commission

REMINDER

There is still one week left for individuals to apply for a seat on the City of Saint Paul’s HREEO (Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity) Commission. The city seeks to ensure that the HREEO Commission’s ranks adequately reflect the broad diversity of its residents. This commission is responsible for the “promotion of justice and equity” as well as addressing any “discriminatory practices” occurring within St. Paul. The HREEO Commission is also charged with the annual review of the city’s Affirmative Action Policy to make certain that hiring and recruitment practices “maximize the diversity” of St. Paul’s workforce.

For more information on the HREEO Commission, including: member requirements and expectations; powers and duties; meeting schedule and time commitments; administrative hearing procedures; resolutions and public statements; term lengths and limits; and how to submit an application and answer supplemental application questions, please visit  the City of Saint Paul’s HREEO Commission webpage. The deadline to apply is Thursday, March 31, 2022. Those who submit an application by this date will be considered for a commission appointment in the Summer/Fall of 2022.

Likewise, you can also access information on other service opportunities by visiting the city’s Boards and Commissions webpage. Additional opportunities to serve include the Climate Justice Advisory Board, Financial Empowerment Community Council, Police Civilian Internal Affairs Review Commission, Saint Paul Neighborhood Network Board of Directors, and many others.
