Community Action to Host "COVID-19 Vaccines and the Black Community: A Virtual Town Hall."

Next Wednesday, May 19, 2021, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am CDT, Community Action Partnership of Ramsey & Washington Counties is hosting “COVID-19 Vaccines and the Black Community: A Virtual Town Hall.” This town hall will feature two African American medical professionals, Dr. Minelva Nanton Donato and Chanon Ridore (APRN, CNP), who will discuss the science and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines as well as access to the vaccine in the Black community, which has been disproportionately impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.  

This free town hall is interactive and encourages direct participation of all those attending. Therefore, questions, comments, personal experiences will be welcome throughout the duration of this event. About Minelva Nanton Donato, MD, PhD

Dr. Nanton specializes in broad-spectrum family medicine and has a particular interest in preventive medicine, lifestyle medicine, complex chronic disease management, prenatal care, attending births, women’s health, pediatric care, mental health, LGBTQ care, immigrant and refugee health. As a scientist, she has a commitment to evidence-based medicine and quality improvement. Dr. Nanton earned both her M.D. and a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota.

About Chanon Ridore, APRN, CNP

Ms. Ridore is a Certified Nurse Practitioner and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with Hennepin Healthcare. Her specialization is in general pediatrics and she also has experience in pediatric ear, nose and throat conditions. Ms. Ridore holds both a BS and BSN in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania.
