As the Temperature Dips, Our Energy Assistance Program Keeps Minnesota Homes Heated

REMINDER to RESIDENTS of RAMSEY and WASHINGTON COUNTIES

We are nearly six weeks into the 2021 Heating Season and Community Action is accepting for its Energy Assistance Program. Households that were approved during the 2020 season received their applications at the end of August. New applicants can download the 2021 Energy Assistance application at caprw.org, request that their application be sent through US Mail, or pre-schedule and in-person appointment at either our St. Paul (Ramsey County) or Oakdale (Washington County) locations. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to comply with all safety protocols, no walk-in assistance is being offered at this time. So again, you must schedule your appointment in advance by calling 651-645-6470, if you wish to apply in person.

Each year, Community Action’s Energy Assistance Program helps approximately 20,000 low-income households pay their utility bills and remain safe and warm during Minnesota’s winters, while also providing: home energy crisis intervention; outreach to vulnerable populations; information regarding consumer advocacy and rights; and referrals to our weatherization services and other vital community resources.

For eligibility requirements, questions about submitting an application, required documentation, details regarding Minnesota’s Cold Weather Rule, and other helpful information, please visit our Energy Assistance webpage. You can also email us at eap@caprw.org or call 651-645-6470.
