ELECTION DAY is here!
If you have yet to submit a completed absentee ballot, you still have until 3:00 pm CST to deliver it in-person to your county elections office. To find the location of the election office in the county in which you reside and vote, please visit the Office of the Secretary of State Elections and Voting webpage.
You also have the right to register and vote in-person today at your local polling place between the hours of 7:00 am and 8:00 pm. To locate your polling place, please enter your address and zip code at the Secretary of State Polling Place Finder.
And, on a final note, although scores of politicians, pundits, and voters across America (and the world) are calling this the most important presidential election in our nation’s history – please remember as well that: LOCAL ELECTIONS MATTER. Here’s how:
- Local government manages a lot of different things—and their decisions directly affect your life. Think schools, policing, affordable housing, public transit, etc…
- State and local governments lead the way when the federal government isn’t. Many critical policies—minimum wage, women’s right to vote, environmental protections, marriage equality—all began at the local level.
- Your vote will make a difference. Typically, 1 in 5 voters participate in off-year local elections, which means YOUR vote has a big impact.
VOTE! Your voice matters.
