Early voting in Minnesota ends one week from today, November 2, 2020, and Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Some Minnesota residents are eligible to vote early or on election day through a method known as “Agent Delivery.” To qualify to vote via Agent Delivery, you must live in a:
- Nursing home
- Assisted living facility
- Residential Treatment Center
- Group home
- Battered women’s shelter
Those who are hospitalized or are unable to visit their polling place due to incapacitating health circumstances or disability are also eligible.
The Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State notes that the agent you select to pick up and/or deliver your absentee ballot must be “At least 18 years old, have a pre-existing relationship with you, and cannot be a candidate. An individual cannot be an agent of more than three voters in an election. The agent must show identification with their name and signature when returning a ballot.”
Absentee ballots for Agent Deliver can be picked up starting seven days before Election Day (beginning tomorrow, October 27, 2020) and until 2:00 pm CST on Election Day. And, those using the Agent Delivery option must have their completed absentee ballot must be returned by 3:00 pm CST on Election Day (Tuesday, November 3, 2020).
To utilize Agent Delivery, please provide your “agent” with a completed absentee ballot application along with a request for agent delivery of absentee ballot form. Have your agent take both forms to the local election office to receive your ballot.
