Take Action

Serve on the CAPRW Board

Community Action of Ramsey and Washington Counties is accepting interest forms from those who represent people living with low incomes as our new Consumer Sector Board Member.

We believe those living in poverty intimately understand the steps necessary to overcome it, and this is reflected in our tri-representational board. One-third is represented by the community (also called consumer) sector, one-third by the private sector, and one-third by the public (government) sector. The Board is responsible for guiding the agency's mission and programs.

To qualify as a Consumer Sector Representative you must be living with an income that is 80% of the Annual Median Income (AMI) for your family (see chart below) or you live in an area where more than 51% of residents have a low income.

CAPRW’s Mission? To eliminate poverty, offer support, and deconstruct the systems that cause and perpetuate economic disparities for people in our community.

Joining our Board of Directors is a great way to make a difference in your community by donating your time and talents. When you volunteer with Community Action, you are taking action to work with your neighbors to overcome the effects of poverty on people's lives.

The time commitment is about 2.5 hours a month with occasional additional training that is another 5-10 hours a year.

All interest forms are due by 5pm on February 23rd.

From Noon on February 26th to 5pm on March 8th, Ramsey and Washington county community members will vote on all individuals interested in joining the CAPRW Board.
