Is Getting Ahead Right for Me?

If you want to build resources towards a better life for yourself, your family, and your community, Getting Ahead is right for you. This comprehensive, 50-hour training is designed to take you on a journey of empowerment. It begins with a current self-assessment and ends with you developing an action plan to fulfill your “future story.”

This 16-session course gives you the means to investigate the impact that poverty has had on your life, your family, and your neighborhood. In addition, you’ll better understand the circumstances and systemic obstacles that keep people in poverty. Getting Ahead dispels myths and widely held beliefs about poverty while helping you discover strengths and abilities in yourself and neighbors.

Am I Eligible?

To qualify for Getting Ahead, you must:

Be 18-years or older
Live in Ramsey or Washington Counties
Live at or below 125% of the federal poverty guidelines
